I Want to Receive the Grace of the Lord

Whenever my children are arrogant, I often scold them unfairly. They explained themselves. They assert that they are right and that they are not wrong. Why, their mother loves them, but they do not think deeply about why she is treating them unfairly.

In the Bible, the Pharisees were angry at Jesus' rebuke. Because they thought they were living righteously, they thought they were living less sinfully through their deeds. Jesus did not come to this earth for the righteous. He came for the sinners and the sick. Jesus has mercy on sinners. We want to receive the Lord's grace, we say. However, we are always trying to live righteously.
